Citisoft's David Bates discussed MSCI's acquisition of real estate data and analytics provider Real Capital Analytics in Fundfire. On the topic of how this will impact asset owners and managers as they delve into private markets, he weighs in:
“As asset management is becoming more sophisticated in terms of these private asset classes, MSCI has their risk and performance analytics and decision-making solutions, [so this deal] will help them build out capabilities within that real estate asset domain,” he says. “And if you look at the competitive landscape in terms of where a lot of the service providers and … vendor solutions are going, being able to satisfy multi-asset mandates is front and center."
