Citisoft, a global investment management consulting firm, has announced the fourth scholar added to their Citisoft Scholars Program in partnership with Youth Guidance.
We are excited to name Sabirah Simon as the 2025 Citisoft Scholar and recipient of a four-year scholarship to Boston University.
The Citisoft Scholars Program is guided by the mission of helping empower students in underserved communities through education, financial literacy, and community engagement. In 2022, Citisoft launched the four-year scholarship program in partnership with Youth Guidance Boston, part of the Youth Guidance national nonprofit organization. Its core programs, Becoming a Man (BAM) and Working on Womanhood (WOW), are highly engaging school-based counseling and mentoring programs that promote social-emotional and psychological well-being, strong school engagement, and increased academic attainment for students in grades 7-12.
“This year was our most competitive group of applicants yet,” said Derek Pratt, Chair of Citisoft’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee. “Among the group of over 10 applicants, many with impressive academic records, Sabirah stood out with her drive to rise up in the face of adversity and succeed. Now, with scholars spanning freshman to senior years, we couldn’t be prouder of this group and their continued academic and personal growth.”
“Youth Guidance Boston is very excited to have the first Citisoft Scholar from our WOW program,” noted Shawn Brown, Youth Guidance Executive Director | Boston. “Citisoft’s commitment to bridging opportunity gaps for our students exemplifies their role as true champions of the Youth Guidance mission. Through the Citisoft Scholars program, our BAM and WOW alumni gain invaluable access to the expertise and professional network of the Citisoft team, opening doors that may have otherwise remained closed. We are proud to partner with Citisoft and grateful for the meaningful, lasting impact they are making in the lives of our scholars.”
Now in its fourth year, Sabirah joins Jakhi Sanders (rising sophomore at University of Rhode Island), Luc Louis (rising junior at UMass Amherst), and Evan Lewis (rising senior at LaSalle) as a scholarship recipient and member of the growing network of Citisoft Scholars. Citisoft and Youth Guidance look forward to continuing the growth of this program with application details for the next academic year to be shared by Youth Guidance in 2026.
